THE STUNNING
CONCLUSION
And that's the end of it -- The Mummy's Tooth,
an exercise in sequential TERROR! Let's have a hand! Watch this space, 'cause
sometime next week (probably) will see the premiere of Violence Man in a
heartwarming tale about crime-prevention and tough love, "Scarred Straight."
So, I mentioned I was moving, but didn't say
why. Well, as it turns out, Norm's heading back to school. My pencils are
sharpened, my ukelele, letter jacket and jalopy are in tow, and I'm ready
to tune me some hickory sticks. I have aspirations towards achieving a business
degree, which, before you begin scratching your heads, will function towards
SERVING my cartoonery, career-wise, rather than replacing it. I'd go into
detail, but since this is effectively my Freshman year all over again, it
would be premature to discuss my grandiose plans for the future while I'm
still trying to remember how fractions work in Math 101.
Having not been inside a classroom in something
close to ten years has honestly made me a bit nervous, and with classes beginning
this coming week, I'm in full nail-biting mode. It doesn't help that I run
a very real risk of being outperformed by a bunch of whippersnappers, and
I'm sure it will take some adjustment getting used to the fact that I am
now going to function as that creepy, older guy in the back of the classroom.
School desks just don't promote much respect,
do they? I'm betting they were designed for that. Kinda like setting everybody
in little clown cars, so the teacher doesn't get intimidated.
SHE gets a REAL desk.
All right -- this is an edit, Saturday at 12:20;
registered for classes yesterday morning, and, oddly enough, Math 101 is
the one course I was gunning for that I DIDN'T get. Ended up with two English
courses, instead, which should be easy enough, though that often translates
directly into intense tedium. Otherwise, I got a communications class, and
Business Law. Excitement! Classes begin next week, so, I'll give you a more
panicky update, then. Here's to the future, comicky and otherwise!
Oh, and tell me how you liked (or not) "The
Mummy's Tooth" at spookingtons (at) gmail.com !
